Babak grew up playing soccer in Dallas, Texas. He started playing soccer at a very young age and played his youth soccer with the Solar Soccer Club.
He started playing college soccer at Richland College and finished his junior and senior years at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN.
In 2008, Babak became an assistant women's soccer coach at Lipscomb University. He assisted in all areas of the program. Main job roles included-recruiting, allocating athletic scholarships, organizing practice sessions, coordinating team travel, fall and spring schedule, maintaining NCAA Division 1 compliance logs and fully understanding those regulations.
From 2009-11, Babak was the head women's soccer coach at Lubbock Christian University. he established new collegiate women’s soccer program. Recruited 20 academically and athletically qualified student-athletes in less than six months. Responsible for all aspects of the planning and organization of a highly competitive NAIA athletic program which included leadership, exceptional communicational skills, commitment to student-athlete welfare and personal development, recruiting, on field coaching, administrative duties, compliance with University, NAIA and conference rules/regulations and management of coaching staff and resources.
Two consecutive years as Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament Quarterfinalist with reduced athletic scholarships.
Throughout the years, Babak has attended numerous coaching clinics, seminars and camps. He has coached nationwide college soccer prep camps.
Babak is a grade 6 referee, having experience at Region III - Southern Regionals, USYSA Youth Nationals, Disney Showcase, etc.
